https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=875691 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=875691#c0 Summary: bind/named: default_debug channel is unusable Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: openSUSE 13.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: bpoirier@suse.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- With the configuration shipped, named cannot write to its default_debug channel. This is because named tries to write to named.run in its cwd, which is "/var/lib/named" (the chroot base) and to which the user named doesn't have write access. One possible solution is to add the following configuration statements: logging { channel chroot_debug { file "/var/log/named.run"; severity dynamic; }; category default { default_syslog; chroot_debug; }; }; Reference: ftp://ftp.isc.org/isc/bind9/cur/9.9/doc/arm/Bv9ARM.ch06.html#id2574963 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
