--- Comment #2 from Matthias Froese 2013-11-27 14:07:09 UTC ---
INFO: The printer seems not to be involved in this bug. This morning I booted
with powered-down printer and yet the device name was "wlp0s16f0u2" instead of
the usual "wlp0s16f4u2".
After another cold boot the device name was "correct" again. Surprisingly I
could switch on the printer during the first 1000 pings to the router; as you
can see in the next lines the package loss was 0%.
I changed /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules to
SUBSYSTEM=="net", ACTION=="add", ATTR{address}=="00:17:31:94:3C:BE",
NAME="wlan0"
as you suggested, but the device name did NOT change. Studying the other
entries in the directory I even tried
ACTION!="add", GOTO="libsane_rules_end"
SUBSYSTEM=="net", ACTION=="add", ATTR{address}=="00:17:31:94:3C:BE",
NAME="wlan0"
LABEL="libsane_rules_end"
(I assume address is the MAC address) but the name was still not "wlan0".
Please have a look at this line of dmesg-output:
[ 16.314752] systemd-udevd[307]: renamed network interface wlan0 to
wlp0s16f4u2
This does not look like an "forgotten" entry, more like an "additional" at a
different place?
Some more information about the package loss (ping summary):
Right after reboot:
--- fritz.box ping statistics ---
1000 packets transmitted, 1000 received, 0% packet loss, time 201340ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 1.846/2.227/3.989/0.295 ms, ipg/ewma 201.542/2.176 ms
After 30m uptime (and some web surfing that finally dropped speed)-all programs
and browsers being terminated:
--- fritz.box ping statistics ---
1000 packets transmitted, 571 received, 42% packet loss, time 202955ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 1.880/2.632/4.440/0.350 ms, ipg/ewma 203.158/2.677 ms
I execute these commands:
ifconfig wlp0s16f4u2 down
ifconfig wlp0s16f4u2 up
route add default gw 192.168.178.1
and the result is:
1000 packets transmitted, 999 received, 0% packet loss, time 201400ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 1.844/2.341/5.826/0.380 ms, ipg/ewma 201.601/2.447 ms
My current temporary workaraound for accessing certain web-pages seems to be
relooping these commands in a root shell as needed instead of rebooting or
using a different OS.
Additional remark: Firewall is NOT running (if I can believe YaST).
- I am trying to gain more data with wireshark now. -
