--- Comment #15 from Earl Ruby 2013-11-21 00:20:45 UTC ---
I added the features flag to /etc/multipath.conf:
devices {
device {
vendor "Pillar"
product "Axiom.*"
path_grouping_policy "group_by_prio"
path_checker "tur"
hardware_handler "0"
prio "alua"
rr_weight "uniform"
features "1 no_partitions"
}
}
I restarted multipathd but the partitions are still there, so I rebooted and
the partitions are still there. I also tried adding multipath to
/etc/multipath.conf, as shown on
https://www.novell.com/support/kb/doc.php?id=7011590:
multipaths {
multipath {
wwid 2000b0804e1002142
features "1 no_partitions"
}
}
I restarted multipathd but the partitions are still there, so I rebooted and
the partitions are still there:
# ls -al /dev/disk/by-id/*-2000b0804e1002142
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 10 Nov 21 00:01
/dev/disk/by-id/dm-name-2000b0804e1002142 -> ../../dm-3
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 10 Nov 21 00:01
/dev/disk/by-id/dm-uuid-mpath-2000b0804e1002142 -> ../../dm-3
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 10 Nov 21 00:00
/dev/disk/by-id/dm-uuid-part1-mpath-2000b0804e1002142 -> ../../dm-6
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 10 Nov 21 00:00
/dev/disk/by-id/dm-uuid-part2-mpath-2000b0804e1002142 -> ../../dm-7
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 10 Nov 21 00:01 /dev/disk/by-id/scsi-2000b0804e1002142
-> ../../dm-3
multipath -t shows that my changes "took":
..[many devices omitted]...
device {
vendor "Pillar"
product "Axiom.*"
path_grouping_policy "group_by_prio"
path_checker "tur"
features "1 no_partitions"
hardware_handler "0"
prio "alua"
rr_weight "uniform"
}
}
multipaths {
multipath {
wwid 2000b0804e1002142
features "1 no_partitions"
}
}
Starting the dir0 VM still results in the same errors.
Is there some other way to get rid of the part1/part2 partitions?
