Can you give an example of a package that is actually using this?
I don't have one - I was looking how to guess the linking flags without a need to call tclConfig.sh and realized new tcl does have pkgconfig files, which were unfortunately pointless.
Tcl extensions are usually using the Tcl Extension Architecture (TEA), which is based on the tclConfig.sh and tkConfig.sh scripts and doesn't need the .pc files. Up to now I hadn't even noticed that Tcl and Tk have these files.
As there are at least three different ways of linking to Tcl, depending on the Situation (1. as an application that embeds Tcl, 2. as an extension that links to libtcl, 3. as an extension that links to the Tcl stubs table), it IMO doesn't make much sense to have these .pc files at all.
It is probably up to you - I would say it is ok to fix them either do not install them if they are broken. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
