--- Comment #12 from Alexander Bergmann 2013-11-14 09:52:27 UTC ---
I'm unable to trigger a core file (so far). The core file size is already set
to unmilited by default. I've created a script that wraps the mke2fs program to
get a bit more information, but with this wrapper the problem vanished and the
EXT3 filesystem is created without the error.
I've move mke2fs to mke2fs.org and the created the following script:
#!/bin/bash
echo $@ > /tmp/mkfs.log
ulimit -a >> /tmp/mkfs.log
/sbin/mke2fs.org $@
Here's the mkfs.log output:
-O dir_index -m4.1 -t ext3 -v /dev/sda2
core file size (blocks, -c) unlimited
data seg size (kbytes, -d) unlimited
scheduling priority (-e) 0
file size (blocks, -f) unlimited
pending signals (-i) 3389
max locked memory (kbytes, -l) 64
max memory size (kbytes, -m) unlimited
open files (-n) 1024
pipe size (512 bytes, -p) 8
POSIX message queues (bytes, -q) 819200
real-time priority (-r) 0
stack size (kbytes, -s) 8192
cpu time (seconds, -t) unlimited
max user processes (-u) 3389
virtual memory (kbytes, -v) unlimited
file locks (-x) unlimited
I also changed the core_pattern to "/tmp/core", but no luck.
