After installation, OpenSuse 13.1 / KDE detected the phantom LVDS display and made it the primary display, which was very hard to figure out since the only real display was not working correctly when it was non-primary. With the erroneous configuration system booted properly only once and then failed to boot second time, hanging on a repetitive systemctl message or something flickering above that vine-like graphic thing on startup. Installation correctly screens did not try to display onto phantom LVDS, and KDE/OpenSuse 13.1 would be enhanced by following the same initial display logic as followed by the installation screens. Either that, or get user to confirm that display is correct when the system thinks it is displaying onto multiple screens ... because it might not be and bad displays are hard to fix..... Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install new 13.1 RC on DN2800MT with disabled LVDS 2. Boot 3. Disabled LVDS is made primary display, actual VGA display is secondary (with few controls, doesn't show active windows) and on subsequent boots system may fail to boot and fail to go into "emergency" mode. Expected Results: Would be nice enhancement if KDE/OpenSuse 13.1 made the same display primary as was used during the installation, which in this case was not the deactivated LVDS output. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
