Yes. I booted the KDE Live CD (build 0504), clicked 'Install'.
This was in a qemu-kvm VM *WITHOUT* network.
Actually, I had specified:
-net nic,model=virtio -net user
but for some reason I got no network out of it.
With no network, there is no name resolution. No name resolution meant that
'hostname' took a long time (multiple DNS timeouts?). Why does hostname need
to be called? If I pop into a shell, the "virtual machine" *has* a name
already.
