Frankly, the new behaviour sucks for my usecase:
hardstatus string "%{.bW}%-w%{.rW}%n %t%{-}%+w %=%{..G} %H %{..Y} %m/%d %C%a
"
This used to display a nice "taskbar" with all the windows. Now it is cluttered
with the window flags. What's even worse is that the width of the flags is not
constant (e.g. the current/previous windows have an additional */-). So when I
cycle through my windows, the "taskbar" buttons change their width, which is
very distracting.
Can I do something to avoid this with the new behaviour?
Could we have e.g. a way to specify the format of the flags (which I could set
to an empty sting...)?
Which part of having the difference of w / Lw do you consider hackish? The
parsing of the escape string? Couldn't we have two different letters instead,
one with the flags and one without?
Thanks!
