Hi Manuel
The workaround is to edit your /etc/default/grub_installdevice and replace
/dev/sda1 with /dev/sdb1 and run update-bootloader --refresh to make the
changes effective ..
You'll need to
1. Make sure /dev/sdb1 is installable, the file system need to support reserved
boot sector to place bootloader (ext4 is fine). And /dev/sdb1 is your intended
device to install boot loader in your setup (usually your /boot or /root
partition )
2. Configure your bios to get boot disk order that /dev/sdb appears first.
