tiff supports several types of compressions. convert know pack tiffs with only
some of them, and zip/Deflate is the default.
$ for c in none packbits lzw jpeg zip g3 g4 sgilog; do \
echo Compression: $c; \
convert TIFF-2.png -compress $c TIFF-2.$c.tiff && \
tiff2pdf TIFF-2.$c.tiff -o TIFF-2.$c.pdf; \
done
gives
Compression: none
Compression: packbits
Magick: unrecognized image compression `packbits' @ [...]
Compression: lzw
Compression: jpeg
Compression: zip
Compression: g3
Magick: unrecognized image compression `g3' @ [...]
Compression: g4
Magick: unrecognized image compression `g4' @ [...]
Compression: sgilog
Magick: unrecognized image compression `sgilog' @ [...]
While packbits, g3, g4 and sgilog are not supported by ImageMagick's convert,
only 'lzw' and 'none' compressed tiff content created by tiff2pdf make an
impression it is correct (at least viewing this one testcase).
