I think the first one is actually the correct one. The Chrome debugger (Console) moans about this with the error: Resource interpreted as Script but transferred with MIME type text/x-js: Please remove the text/x-js mime type or comment it off by default. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: grep js$ /etc/apache2/mime.types Actual Results: Install Apache, Start It. Create an html page with a javascript <script> tag that downloads a Javascript file with a .js extension. Open in Chrome. Press Ctrl-Shift-I. Click on Console. Download the html page.
