This happens regardless whether I'm taking a full screen snapshot, a snapshot of a single window, or selecting an area. I'm not sure about the correct component to choose here. I'm actually using Cinnamon, so I'm don't know whether it also happens in GNOME proper. It could also be an X11 bug.
