Sorry to say that but you are using loopaes key files the wrong way. They are
supposed to be plain text. When you feed binary data into crypsetup in loop aes
mode the result is unpredictable as e.g. strlen() doesn't work as expected
anymore.
So if you have a volume with real data from 12.2 you need to make a backup on
12.2 an re-create the volume with a proper key file or switch to LUKS which is
less error prone. Please do that ASAP, cryptsetup really operates on random
data so opening the volume could break an time, even on 12.2.
