Running Windows 7 x64 with VMware Workstation 9.02. Setup my OSS 12.3 guest in
default mode with 3d Graphics Acceleration enabled. Performed fresh install as
a Gnome desktop.
Post install, system started an froze at splash screen. No console windows
were available.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install as openSUSE Linux in VMware workstation with Gnome Desktop
2. When system restarts it will freeze
3. Turn off 3D graphics accelaration in VM guest settings
4. System will start in 800x600 mode
5. Turn on 3D graphics accelaration in VM guest settings and restart guest
6. openSUSE 12.3 will freeze on startup splashscreen
Actual Results:
With 3D graphics acceleration ON in VMware guest settings, OSS 12.3 freezes at
startup splash screen. With 3D graphics acceleration OFF, it comes up in
800x600 mode. Will not go to full screen mode.
Installed VMware host utilities and tried again. 3D graphics acceleration
froze OSS 12.3 on startup, but 3D graphics acceleration OFF allowed system to
come up and go to full screen mode.

Expected Results:
OSS should not freeze on startup.
