--- Comment #12 from Graham Davis 2013-03-05 13:16:24 UTC ---
I tried this and got the following results:
1400x1050x32 (default) had the display stuck at a 20% shift to right but a
forced 'autoadjust' on the TV monitor corrected it and also fixed subsequent
tests. This did not happen automatically. However, GRUB2 menu after reboot was
still 20% shifted.
1600x1200x32 was OK first time although not recommended by the monitor.
1280x960x32 was OK, recommended by the monitor, but trying this resolution in
start of NetCD install (F3) produced garbled graphics.
1152x864x32 had an initial 20% slip but was OK after an automatic 'autoadjust'
by the monitor.
Process for doing these tests was slow as I had to reboot after each test.
I tried booting in 'recovery mode' but this stalled at 'Reached target
Graphical Interface,' displaying on 'Esc' only the openSUSE splash screen and
no login panel. I then tried going into edit mode in GRUB2 and tacking on
'nomodeset' but this stalled in the same way.
