This is not in initrd issue. initrd is only resposible for / and swap.
The problem seems to be that boot.md isn't assembling the array successfully.
If you run
/etc/init.d/boot.md start
does md0 get created?
What if you run
mdadm -Asvvv
??
If that doesn't assemble /dev/md0, please report the output it generates.
