There's nothing wrong with the workaround... the problem is that the default
media player for the default desktop environment in the current STABLE version
of openSUSE cannot just be broken for two months.
openSUSE is not just a server distro, it is also a desktop distro, and it is
supposed to be accessible to Linux newcomers. There are people out there who
don't know what MySQL is and have never typed 'zypper' into a command line, and
yet lead happy rewarding lives, using openSUSE.
How am I supposed to look these people in the eye and tell them openSUSE is
just as good as Windows or Mac OS? They keep telling me it's "typically Linux"
that they are required to type weird things into an interface they don't
understand... only to listen to music.
But never mind my rant. I just hope that *somebody* out there realises that a
P1/Critical bug in the *current stable release* cannot, cannot, cannot just
exist for two months like this. Something went badly wrong here.
