Summary: error in /usr/bin/mytop prevents mytop from starting
Classification: openSUSE

Version: Final
Platform: All
OS/Version: openSUSE 12.1

Version/12.00
I installed mytop via "zypper install mytop" from the default repository. When
starting mytop in a shell the error shows up
and mytop quits immediately. The source of that error can be located in line
159 of /usr/bin/mytop which is <"long|!" => \$config{long_nums}"> (without <>).
Suggested workaround are commenting out that line [http://www.eth0.us/node/204]
or replacing that line
[http://blog.mrmason.net/2009/05/21/error-in-option-spec-long-mytop/] with
<"long|long_nums|1!" => \$config{long_nums},>
Both suggested solutions provide a mytop that is starting up and working.
However I did not notice any difference in the output of mytop when using
either of the two solutions.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. install OpenSUSE 12.1 with packages "mysql-community-server" and "mytop"
2. start mysql server (e.g. with sudo /etc/init.d/mysql start)
3. start mytop
Actual Results:
mytop does not start up but quits with an error message
Expected Results:
mytop starts ans show mysql database statistics
Version of mytop:
#zypper info mytop
