However it is implemented with the vga= boot option which is by now deprecated. Usage of the vga= boot option leads to a kernel halt and refusal to do a suspend to disk. Better use uvesafb with uvesafb.mode_option=1600x1200-24@60 as kernel parameter. However this requires the v86d user space wrapper to be shipped with openSUSE.
