My answer to that in comment #9 seems to have been messed up.
For building the DRM KMP across multiple versions, the right way to do it is to
use compatibility shims in the code and apply the patch unconditionally. You
shouldn't key off the version in the spec file to apply patches selectively.
Ideally, you should just need something like a "compat.h" that implements shims
for the new code to use, or sometimes a compat.c will be needed to implement
missing functionality.
The goal should be to use as few ifdefs as possible and to not have to patch
the code itself other than to add #include "compat.h" to the top of the file.
