https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=751669 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=751669#c0 Summary: Apper suggests update allthough a more recent version of the affected program is installed Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 12.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Applications AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: malte.gell@gmx.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:10.0.2) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/10.0.2 Situation: I have Mozilla Firefox installed from the Mozilla community repo. This version is more recent than the version from the openSUSE 12.1 update repo. But, apper still suggests to update to the version from the update repo, allthough a more recent version is allready installed. Thus, the update information from apper does not make sense and should not be there. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install e.g. Firefox from community repo 2. Assume, there is an update in the update repo 3. Assume, the Firefox version in the community repo is more recent than the version in the update repo Actual Results: Apper suggests tp update Firefox Expected Results: Apper should not suggest an update, since the community repo version is more recent than the version in the update repo. I have used Firefox as an example. You could use any other program that is delivered via a community repo. If the update repo delivers an update that actually has a lower version number than the community version, apper still suggests to update, though it makes no sense. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
