Testing with samba 3.4.3 from SLES11SP! shows the same behavior as before.
The first try to copy round about 15GB from the Windows DC to the samba server
ends without any corresponding log entries after 10 or 12 minutes. The windows
client told:
"Der Netwerkpfad wurde nicht gefunden"
After the sencond try i found the following entries in log.smbd:

It seems that somtimes both sides windows-client and samba-server have the same
problem: losing network connection.
..perhaps this is not a samba problem. The question is: what else? After
testing with three different NICs, i've no idea.
