https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=749102 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=749102#c0 Summary: No sound in any DE Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Sound AssignedTo: tiwai@suse.com ReportedBy: ilevshin@novell.ru QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:10.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/10.0.1 I'm in trouble with my OpenSuSE 12.1 64-bit edition (final). Just after I've installed OS - there is no sound in any DE (I've tried XFCE4 (my current DE), KDE4, GNOME3 - with absolutely same result) Motherboard on my PC containing Realtek ALC892 chip, it is 7.1 HD sound. Also there is built-in ATI HDMI sound output. I have 2 sound devices in YaST: "SBx00 Azalia (Intel HDA)" and "ATI Technologies Inc", both devices using sda-hd-intel audio driver. I haven't tested HDMI sound I've checked everything which can be related with sound - without any visible results. Only when sound device initializing I can hear short "click" in speakers. Also I found that when I'm trying to start playing music in my player - I can see that sound level indicator changing its value, so it seems like everything is working fine. Also there is no "output error". But, at the same time, there is no sound from speakers I already had similar problem with 11.4 - this was fixed during system updates, I can't remember exactly which update fixed my problem. Also I can remember that I fixed same problem in 11.4 be removing PULSE - tried this solution but was failed, there is no sound even if I removing PULSE fully On my home PC I have no such problem at all (it is using AC'97 Realtek sound card). It seems like problem related only with HD sound card.
