--- Comment #8 from Michael Andres 2012-02-14 16:00:48 CET ---
Strange:
- The update 2012-01-31 01:49:21 to openSUSE-12.1 shows about 3100 packages
being installed at the beginning of 'zypper dup'. Among them e.g. libreoffice,
which is updated successfully, like all the other 2899 packages processed.
TargetImpl::commit(<pool>, CommitPolicy( DownloadInHeaps )) returns:
CommitResult 2899 (errors 0, remaining 0, srcremaining 0,
Neither testcase not log indicate any problem.
- The next testcase 2012-02-01 15:06:49 reports only 936 packages being
installed. libreoffice and about 2000 other are gone.
Either those packages were actually deleted by some zypper/PackageKit/YaST
request, or the rpm database actually lost entries. A few more questions:
+ You mentioned in IRC you did a 'rpm --rebuilddb'. Have there been any errors
reported (before or during --rebuilddb)?
+ Is e.g. libreoffice usable? Can you start the program?
Whats's output of 'rpm -q libreoffice'
+ Whats's output of 'rpm -qa | wc -l'
+ Whats's output of 'ls -l /var/adm/backup/rpmdb'
Please attach /var/log/zypp/history and /var/log/zypper.log-201202* (the 1st
log from February). This will show the zypper/PackageKit/YaST activities
between both testcase. Maybe it contains some hint about what happened between
the two testcases.
