I have been able to repeat this multiple times.
The expert partitioner does not create dos compatible extended partitions, nor
does it seem to "late create" correctly as the original post states.
I had to use DOS utilities to get everything fixed.
There was another but this was originally associated with as well. You should
communicate with that person since once they downloaded MS-DOS they went silent
and been silent for a while.
It doesn't always put the correct partition type code in. When you create an
extended partition it gives it a type 63 (as it appears in DOS FDISK) which is
unrecognizable by DOS.
I assume you created bootable floppies instead of a bootable DOS primary as was
described in this bug. That's comparing grapes to watermelon.
