I'm having a similar problem with 12.1 (i386) on a Lenovo ThinkPad
R400. After reboot, one kworker process will completely utilize one
core (and occassionally two kworker processes will completely utilize
two cores). After 5-10 minutes the kworker processes become idle.
uname for this system is
Linux mylaptop 3.1.9-1.4-desktop #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Jan 27 08:55:10 UTC 2012
(efb5ff4) i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
Unlike comment #1, I see no mention of acpi in /var/log/messages.
I'd love to help get this issue resolved, and I'd be happy to provide
any additional information.
