The descriptions of the "si" and "so" columns in the guide do not correspond to the descriptions in the vmstat(8) man page. Instead, the descriptions in the Tuning Guide appear to swap the meanings of the "si" and "so" columns. This documentation bug exists in: openSUSE 12.1 opensuse-tuning_en-pdf-11.4-12.1.2.noarch http://doc.opensuse.org/documentation/html/openSUSE/opensuse-tuning/cha.util... Factory http://doc.opensuse.org/products/draft/openSUSE_Factory/opensuse-tuning_sd_d... Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Static documentation Actual Results: Extract from the "System Analysis and Tuning Guide", section 2.1.1: si Amount of data (KB) that is moved from RAM to swap per second.... so Amount of data (KB) that is moved from swap to RAM per second.... Expected Results: Extract from vmstat(8) man page si: Amount of memory swapped in from disk (/s). so: Amount of memory swapped to disk (/s). It reads to me like the Tuning Guide swapped the descriptions for "si" and "so". -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
