Summary: filezilla does not connect to ftps sites
Classification: openSUSE
Product: openSUSE 12.1
Version: Final
Platform: x86-64
OS/Version: openSUSE 12.1
Status: NEW
Severity: Major
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Network
AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

If one tries to connect to ftp secured with ssl filezilla fails with ambiguous
error "GnuTLS handshake failed. Error: -12". Even with more debugging on the
client side there is nothing much to catch on.

Testing on server side reveal this error:
Mon Jan 30 13:47:56 2012 [pid 2] DEBUG: Client "", "SSL_accept
failed: error:1408A0C1:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_CLIENT_HELLO:no shared cipher"

This means that filezilla is unvilling to decide which ciphers the client and
server share.

This bug was fixed in version 3.5.3 so simple version bump (from network
repository) should suffice.

Slightly unrelated note:
Filezilla newer than 3.5 won't connect by default to any vsftpd server due to
weak default crypto. The ftp server has to state in its config something like
this: "ssl_ciphers=HIGH".
