Guido Berhörster
In the syslog following message appears: polkitd(authority=local): Unregistered Authentication Agent for unix-session:/org/freedesktop/ConsoleKit/Session21 (system bus name :1.388, object path /org/gnome/PolicyKit1/AuthenticationAgent, locale de_DE.UTF-8) (disconnected from bus)
That message normal and not related to this issue.
If this happens, after the next relogin all Window decorations are missing!
It is likely that a slow application triggers the timeout for session saving which in turn triggers a bug in xfce4-session 4.8.0 causing it to crash and not save the session properly (https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7320). Can you try whether this still happens with the xfce4-session 4.8.2 package available from the X11:xfce repository? If it still happens can you please reproduce it by logging out, then immediately log in from the console (not the displaymanager!), make a copy of ~/.xsession-errors and attach it here?
The workaround is removing .cache directory.
No, you can just start xfwm4 manually or disable session saving to work around this.
2. The affected machine has very bad I/O performance (due to SW RAID-1 with slowly harddiscs)
That might actually trigger this problem, the application is too slow to save its state before the session managers timeout hits and kills it. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
