https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=742114 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=742114#c0 Summary: Enabling Samba To Run At Startup When Using systemd Prevents KDM From Launching Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: PC OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: malv_star@hotmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:9.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/9.0 When running openSUSE 12.1 with KDE, and using systemd for init, enabling Samba to start at boot time (through YaST) prevents KDM from ever starting. The system just seems to wait forever, though it is not hung or locked. You can still change between terminal screens with Alt-F1 etc. If you choose to have the system start at runlevel 3 when presented with the grub screen, the system will arrive at text-based logon, and KDM can be started from there, but trying to boot directly to runlevel 5 fails every time. This behaviour however, no longer occured when using the older sysvinit method of starting. For reference, the system showing this behaviour also had mysql and lirc set to start at boot time too. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Use systemd for init. 2. Enable Samba to start at boot. Actual Results: System waits indefinitely just prior to graphical start. Expected Results: System reaches KDM logon. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
