The kernel will _always_ use up all of the physical ram available to the
system, for caches and the like. If it wouldn't, then it would be a waste.
Note, this doesn't mean that all memory is used up at all, that is just how
operating systems work, see http://www.linuxatemyram.com/ for details about all
of this.
But, your programs failing to run are a problem due to something else here, can
we get a proper traceback showing what happened?
