Benjamin,
You need to create the profile with vpnlogin first, then you can connect the VPN with nvpn or vpnlogin. When you create it, it'll generate the .turnpike automatically.
Thanks!
That's the problem. It seems vpnlogin has trouble creating the profile directory. I could only get it to work by copying the .turnpike directory from a 11.4 install.
$ rm -rf .turnpike $ vpnlogin # displays "Profiles directory does not exist. Client installation might be incomplete." and exits $ find .turnpike .turnpike .turnpike/profiles .turnpike/usercerts .turnpike/vendorprofiles .turnpike/vpnlogin_lock .turnpike/log.txt $ whoami ben $ l .turnpike total 0 drwxr-xr-x 1 ben ben 102 Dec 15 08:18 . drwxr-xr-x 1 ben ben 3.6K Dec 15 08:18 .. -rw-r--r-- 1 ben ben 314 Dec 15 08:19 log.txt drwxr-xr-x 1 ben ben 0 Dec 15 08:18 profiles drwxr-xr-x 1 ben ben 0 Dec 15 08:18 usercerts drwxr-xr-x 1 ben ben 0 Dec 15 08:18 vendorprofiles -rwxr-xr-x 1 ben ben 0 Dec 15 08:18 vpnlogin_lock

--- Comment #6 from Li Bin
$ cat .turnpike/log.txt 2011-12-15 08:18:59: INFO: Novell VPN Client for Linux GUI Startup .... 2011-12-15 08:18:59: ERROR: Directory /home/ben/.turnpike/profiles/ does not exist $ vpnlogin # same error...
So vpnlogin creates the .turnpike directory, but it still doesn't work.
