The GUI hangs at the last stage of the KDE bootsplash, showing the KDE "icons", and the last "icon", the KDE logo, stays in a blurred, faded stage. Booting into failsafe mode works. The system itself seems to boot as I can hear the login sound and it seems like that it also logs into the network. During boot, the Nvidia logo is shown. But when I started nvidia-settings, it told me that it seems like that I don´t run the nvidia driver. But "nvidia-xconfig" as root in the terminal did not fix it. I also uninstalled the Noveau driver, but this also did not fix it. the following packages were installed: - X11-video-nvidiaG02 - nvidia-gfxG02-kmp-desktop - nvidia-ComputeG02 - nvidia-settings not sure if this an issue of the nvidia driver, but the installation of this driver in this way worked flawless in openSUSE 11.4, but not anymore in 12.1. I attached the KDE.log file (not sure if it is useful) and can provide more logfiles if you tell me which ones.
