as always ;)
- go to software list
- go to installation summary
- click the keep checkbox
- in the options select:
-- system verification mode
-- cleanup when deleting packages
-- allow vendor changes
- right click on packages
-> All packages on this list -> upgrade to new version if available
this system is upgraded this way for few months, but I was using it earlier
too, starting with 10.1 or something like this.
just please do not say it is not supported - I hate to download CDs/DVDs and
reboot computer to upgrade few libs (in most cases the version changes from
1.1.1-1.1 to 1.1.1-2.1 which means you only updated something internally not
changing the binary/sources itself) ...
when we are here I think it is big environmental issue, do you have to bump
version of almost every of 2000 packages that I have installed ? is it really
necessary ?
This makes 0,5hour usage of downloading packages (12Mbps network) and 1hour of
installing packages, multiplying it by thousands of users you get thousands of
wasted computer/hours which could be avoided by just not bumping versions
because of new release.
Should I create another ticket for this issue or it fits better to
https://features.opensuse.org/ ?
