https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=725875 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=725875#c0 Summary: Booting with systemd creates a /0600 file Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Factory Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: fcrozat@suse.com ReportedBy: suse-beta@cboltz.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Beta-Customer Blocker: --- After booting with systemd, there is an empty file named "0600" in /: # ls -l /0600 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 21. Okt 12:27 /0600 Booting with sysvinit does not create this file. I grepped around a bit in the systemd files - the best candidate for creating this file is: /lib/systemd/system-generators/syslog-service-generator: /bin/touch -m 0600 ${socks#/var} (this line exists at 3 places in syslog-service-generator) Probably the -m 0600 was meant to create the file with 0600 permissions. However, man touch says: -m change only the modification time The touch manpage doesn't mention anything about file modes - you probably need to use umask before calling touch or chmod after touch'ing the file. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
