I've found the culprit:
--- /abuild/oscbuild/openSUSE_Factory/tmp/env +++ /abuild/buildsystem.old/tmp/env @@ -21,8 +22,6 @@ LOGNAME=abuild MACHTYPE=i686-suse-linux MAIL=/var/spool/mail/abuild -MALLOC_CHECK_=3 -MALLOC_PERTURB_=69 MANPATH=/usr/local/man:/usr/share/man MINICOM=-c on MORE=-sl
I've no idea what exactly MALLOC_PERTURB_ is good for but for now it is disabled as it does crash TeX programs trying to dump out a format. I'd like to know if this also will breal e.g. GNU Emacs, or XEmacs, or clisp.
very dumb question: where is MALLOC_PERTURB defined when I rebuild a .src.rpm on my 12.1-beta machine ? how can I redefine it for other builds ? I can't find any PERTURB string in files of rpm.rpm or build.rpm or in /usr/lib/rpm/... etc. FYI: I'm asking for bug #723777 (X server crash duing install): Egbert noticed that some pointer in a freed structure has vaule 0x45454545.... which finally causes *some* trouble;-) now I wonder a) how can I build binary rpms with different values for MALLOC_PERTURB (either 42 or just 0 (zero)) b) if my local "rebuild --rebuild ..." doesn't build identical/compatible packages, is this any good ?! thanks for any hint & pointer... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
