https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=720227 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=720227#c0 Summary: HP tm2t display does not work with ACPI on openSUSE 11.4 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: RC 2 Platform: HP OS/Version: openSUSE 11.4 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: alavarre@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:6.0.2) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/6.0.2 The HP tm2t TouchSmart screen will not display unless you enter either of the two following statements in the Optional Kernel Command Line Parameter (yast2 bootloader): acpi_osi="!Linux" acpi_osi="!Windows 2006" acpi_osi="!Windows 2009" or acpi=off The source of this information is http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/User:Evandotpro/HP_TouchSmart_tm2t and I have confirmed that it is so on my own machine. Even these do not work on all the variations of kernel 3.0.4-43. Will explore this and report later. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Reboot any variant of the openSUSE Linux kernel without modifying the Optional Kernel Command Line Parameter 2. 3. Actual Results: The screen goes black Expected Results: The screen should display. Adding acpi=off allows the screen to display in large fonts Adding acpi_osi="!Linux" acpi_osi="!Windows 2006" acpi_osi="!Windows 2009" allows it to display in 1280x1024 resolution. You must use all three settings, using fewer settings result in the screen being black. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
