https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=719277 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=719277#c0 Summary: memory-related crashes in dotconf Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Factory Platform: All OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mgorse@suse.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:6.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/6.0 If I install orca, install python-speechd, and then try to start Orca, speech-dispatcher starts and then aborts after glibc detects an invalid free. I believe that updating dotconf to the version at github.com/williamh/dotconf will fix things; it has several things cleaned up, and the original maintainer has not maintained dotconf for years, so I would suggest switching to this version. I'll test and submit a request, anyway. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install Orca. 2. Ensure that python-speechd is installed. 3. Start Orca. Actual Results: speech-dispatcher aborts after glibc prints out a backtrace. Orca runs setup without speech. Expected Results: Speech-dispatcher should run and generate speech when Orca runs. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
