https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=717144 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=717144#c0 Summary: NFS umount hangs (unkillable) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.4 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: pe1chl@amsat.org QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:6.0.2) Gecko/20110902 Firefox/6.0.2 SeaMonkey/2.3.3 I upgraded a system from openSUSE 11.2 to 11.4 (upgrading installed packages), and installed all online updates. After the upgrade there is a problem with NFS that did not exist before. Whenever I umount an NFS-mounted filesystem, the command hangs. There is a /sbin/umount.nfs process stuck in D+ state (unkillable). The process stack is like this: [<ffffffff810cfc01>] synchronize_rcu+0x41/0x50 [<ffffffff81118569>] bdi_unregister+0x169/0x1b0 [<ffffffff811554aa>] generic_shutdown_super+0x6a/0x100 [<ffffffff81155599>] kill_anon_super+0x9/0x50 [<ffffffffa0386ebd>] nfs_kill_super+0x1d/0x40 [nfs] [<ffffffff81155ae3>] deactivate_locked_super+0x43/0x70 [<ffffffff81170b29>] sys_umount+0x59/0xd0 [<ffffffff81002f8b>] system_call_fastpath+0x16/0x1b [<00007f2e87437717>] 0x7f2e87437717 [<ffffffffffffffff>] 0xffffffffffffffff The server (SuSE 10.0) logs the rpc.mountd: authenticated unmount request from .. so I think it receives the umount command OK, but the client is stuck. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. mount NFS filesystem: mount -t nfs server:/path /path 2. umount /path Actual Results: umount.nfs hangs in kernel umount call Expected Results: normal umount The system is installed as a guest under VMware vSphere 4, if that matters. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
