This is different from the behaviour under Opensuse 11.2 and SLES 11SP1 and has a catastrophic effect on any scripts which rely on the old behaviour. Example under 11.2 and SLES11: $ echo 12 | cut --output-delimiter=X -c1,2 1X2 Under 11.4: $ echo 12 | cut --output-delimiter=X -c1,2 12 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. At a command prompt type echo 12 | cut --output-delimiter=X -c1,2 2. 3.
