https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=710344 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=710344#c0 Summary: Single mouse click generates an extra event Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.4 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: bnc-team-xorg-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: knuckster@gmail.com QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:5.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/5.0 When I click a mouse button X11 produces extra click event sometimes. This happens with the right button more frequently (with about 80% probability). This is EXTREMELY annoying as theese extra events result in selecting context menu items etc. This started to happen quite some time ago - 2-3 months maybe. I thought it might be some problem in my mouse, but this problem is reproducible on both my PCs - at home and at work. I use simple USB mice with two buttons and a wheel. I found a sort of workaround: holding the mouse button for some time (100ms maybe) rather than releasing the button just after it clicked does not cause this problem. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Do a fast right click somewhere to open a context menu 2. See the menu opened and an item being already clicked for you 3. Rant about an unexpected action being made Actual Results: There seems to be an extra click event dispatched to a GUI. Expected Results: A single click event as it was made. XOrg version is 7.6 from openSuse-OSS repository. Installing XOrg packages from a dedicated repository (http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/X11:/XOrg/openSUSE_11.4/) does not help. My DE is Gnome-2.32 together with compiz-0.95. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
