Then it both input and output stopped working for no reason. Resetting and restarting in YaST sound did nothing. Pulse audio support is checked. New driver was downloaded and installed from ALSA site "Easy way". The sound started working again. Occasionally, a reset of the sound card is necessary. The input quality is perfect. It is the level that is too low, yet popping sound and tapping the mic pushes meter to the end in pavucontrol. Various combinations of settings in both in pavucontrol and in alsamixer do nothing. Reinstalling pavucontrol and all alsa products in YasT does nothing. Kmix had to be removed in order to run add on mixers such as Audacity. Currently, only krecord is present with kmix uninstalled. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Start any app that requires microphone capture. 2.Set mic input level to max 3. Speak into mic Actual Results: Low input level but high quality Expected Results: Input level should be as high as any average music file source, so that playback may be easily heard without turning up speaker volume to 100% Sometimes, the profile list is truncated in pavucontrol under Configuration tab. Resetting the card in YaST restores the full list of options, i.e., surround and digital stereo. How and when this happens has not been monitored. It was just noticed. The OS is fully functional with no known issues. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
