https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=705260 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=705260#c0 Summary: nouveau driver fails to detect DVI-I-2 output on some Galaxy 9500GT cards Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Factory Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.4 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: rbsmith@sandia.gov QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.2.13) Gecko/20101203 Firefox/3.6.13 With kernel-(xen|desktop)-2.6.37.6-0.5.1.x86_64, the nouveau driver only detects both DVI outputs on the Galaxy 9500GT PCIE 512MB(P/N 96TFE8HUFEXX) with VIDEO BIOS 62.94.4B.00.00. On another Galaxy 9500GT with VIDEO BIOS 62.94.46.00.00, it only detects DVI-I-1. Specifically, /sys/class/drm shows: 62.94.4B.00.00 => card-0-DVI-I-1, card-0-DVI-I-2, card-0-TV-1 62.94.46.00.00 => card-0-DVI-I-1 card-0-HDMI-A-1 As such, Twinview display doesn't work; the second display remains blank. The Nvidia proprietary 270.41.06 drivers work fine on both cards, but they don't support kernel-xen. As far as I can tell, Galaxy doesn't provide firmware updates. I'm also reporting this bug to highlight the fact that support for Nvidia on the Xen kernel is limited. The proprietary Nvidia drivers are no longer provided for kernel-xen and nouveau doesn't support the breadth of cards that Nvidia does. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Install and boot. 2./bin/ls /sys/class/drm 3. Actual Results: # ls /sys/class/drm card0 card0-DVI-I-1 card0-HDMI-A-1 controlD64 ttm version Expected Results: # ls /sys/class/drm card0 card0-DVI-I-1 card0-DVI-I-2 card0-TV-1 controlD64 ttm version -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
