A sample error reported to messages reads: dnsmasq-dhcp[<PID>]: failed to read /etc/ethers: Permission denied /etc/ethers seems to be world-readable, however: # ls -la /etc/ethers -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 840 06-22 00:32 /etc/ethers The error is not bound to verion 2.55. The error persists whenever dnsmasq is run from /usr/sbin. Moving the binary to /sbin/ resolves the issue. In fact, a workaround is to move the binary to /sbin & create a symbolic link (/sbin/dnsmasq -> /usr/sbin/dnsmasq). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
