https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=695271 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=695271#c0 Summary: In Gnome KDE4 applications (like K3b) do not conform to selected gtk+ theme when qt configuration 'gui style' selected is 'desktop settings' or 'gtk+' Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: openSUSE 11.4 Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Applications AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: tprotopopescu@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=430716) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=430716) Theme 'mixing', what you should see after step 3 and 5. User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1 Gnome desktop. In 'qt configuration', when I set the GUI style (in the 'Appearance' tab) to 'desktop settings' or 'gtk+' the KDE4 applications I use look an unnactractive mix of my chosen gtk theme and the default KDE4 theme for the applications (see screenshots attached). Some buttons and menus conform to the gtk look and others do not, parts of the window background do and other parts do not. The problem is apparent when you use a theme or color scheme that has a non-white window background, e.g. 'low contrast' or 'high contrast inverse'. If with 'desktop settings' or 'gtk+' selected for gui style in 'qt configuration' and a KDE4 applications running, I then change my appearance preferences to another theme (through 'Control Center > Appearance'), the theme is applied consistently, and the KDE4 application looks like I would like it to. Reverting back to my preferred theme it looks like I would expect, consistent with everything else. However, once the KDE4 application is quit and restarted, the unnatractive theme mixing recurs, that is the theme selection does not get (fully, but only half) saved to the KDE applications. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Control Center > Appearance > select a theme with non-white background, e.g. 'low contrast' or 'high contrast inverse'. 2. Control Center > Qt4 settings > Appearance tab > Select GUI Style, select either 'Desktop Settings' or 'GTK+' 3. Open a KDE4 application like K3b or Kile. Theme selected in 2 should not be applied consistently. 4. Control Center > Appearance > select a different theme and then re-select your previous theme from step 1. KDE4 application should now have your chosen theme applied consistently. 5. Quit and re-open your KDE4 application. Your chosen theme should once again not applied consistently, that is it again looks like it did after step 3. Actual Results: Chosen gnome desktop theme is not applied consistently to KDE4 applications, only some parts are changed others use the default KDE4 appearance. Expected Results: KDE4 applications should look consistent with all other gtk+ applications on the desktop. This applies only to KDE4 applications. Other Qt applications, like 'Qt configuration, VLC, pdftk-qgui or LyX are not affected, they conform to the desktop theme. Theme used in screen shot is a variation of 'emerald gtk-2.0'. Reproducible on 32 bit and 64 bit machines. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
