https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=685591 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=685591#c0 Summary: System hangs/unusable during NFS transfers Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.4 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: bugzilla@go4more.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; de-DE) AppleWebKit/533.3 (KHTML, like Gecko) rekonq Safari/533.3 Using Dolphin to transfer larger files to my NAS (Qnap, embedded Linux on ARM), the system soon becomes completely unusable. The NFS mounts are set up by YaST. /etc/fstab reads my.nas.box:/Qdirectory /network/Qdirectory nfs defaults 0 0 As soon as I start to copy a bigger file, CPU usage goes up according to KDE SysInfo Plasmoid. "top" however doesn't show any special CPU hungry process?! But the system becomes so sluggish and is temporarily freezing, making it completely unusable during the length of the NFS transfer.
