https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=684951 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=684951#c0 Summary: Some flash apps leave ghost images on screen Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: dav1dblunk3tt@hotmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-GB; rv:1.9.2.16) Gecko/20110319 SUSE/3.6.16-0.2.1 Firefox/3.6.16 Sometimes flash applications leave "ghost" images on screen even after the application has quit. ctrl-F1, ctrl-F7 removes the ghosts but apart from this they are 100% persistent. Unfortunately ksnapshot doesn't capture the ghosts. Apart from the jumbed appearance of the original flash image the ghosts interact strangely with the windows in front of them, sometimes they are visible on the desktop and sometimes they are just visible on top of windows placed over the affected area. I'm running kde 4.4.4 from suse 11.3 using the latest updates and (importantly) the nvidia driver from suse. Previously I was subject to this problem: Bug 625339 and used a self compiled 2.6.35 kernel to avoid the lock ups. This fixed the lockups and produced no ghost images. I switched to 2.6.34.7-0.7-desktop which doesn't seem to cause the lockups but does produce these bizarre ghost images. It doesn't matter if compositing is turned on or off although the appearane for the ghost image changes. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: Sometimes running flash in my browser (firefox) results in these ghost images, it doesn't seem to have any pattern to it -sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Actual Results: Sometimes a "ghost" of the flash application is left on the screen - it is sometimes garbled and usually overlays other windows. Expected Results: No ghost images I tried to get a screen shot but ksnapshot produces images that are unaffected by the ghost. Is it something in the zbuffer? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
