I have experienced random system freezes after installing openSUSE 11.4 on my Lenovo Thinkpad W510. The entire desktop locks: the mouse pointer will move, but the desktop is unresponsive to clicks or keyboard input.
Don't sysrqs work?
The only option is powering down the laptop and restarting, which has caused data corruption in a few of my applications.
