User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:2.0.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0 When trying to boot from a disk using the software iSCSI initiator, the system does not boot. Initially the boot progresses as expected, but after initrd loads and the iSCSI initiator starts, I/O errors begin to appear and the system fails to boot. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Boot the installer from a CD, DVD, LiveCD, or network share. 2. In the partitioning section, select the Advanced step of Configure iSCSI. 3. Set up iSCSI parameters and connect to target. 4. Partition the iSCSI disk. 5. Install openSuSE 11.4 onto this iSCSI disk. 6. Reboot the system, booting to the iSCSI disk. This can be accomplished with either an Ethernet NIC that supports booting to iSCSI or the gPXE and iPXE utilities, which enable SAN booting. Actual Results: I/O errors on the iSCSI disk devices, with final result of: INIT: Id "5" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes INIT: cannot execute "/sbin/mingetty" INIT: cannot execute "/sbin/mingetty" INIT: Id "4" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes INIT: Id "6" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes Full log is attached as iscsi-boot.log.
