https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=682894 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=682894#c0 Summary: Driver rtl8191se is working only without encryption Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Factory Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 11.4 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: ninip@arcor.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:2.0b12) Gecko/20110222 Firefox/4.0b12 Hi, I installed the driver rtl8192se as there is no driver rtl8191se available. Download at http://software.opensuse.org/ymp/driver:wireless/openSUSE_11.4/rtl8192se.ymp?base=openSUSE%3A11.4&query=rtl8192se After the installation and a reboot I could setup my wireless network. It is working properly only if I deactivate any encryption. As soon as I do WEP or WPA the W-Lan is going to be disconnected after 1-2 minutes. Without encryption I work with a hidden SSID and no encryption since 2 days now. Would be great if this driver will be updated to be used with encryption, too. Thanks for supporting & best regards, Claus Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. no wireless driver detected after installation of opensuse 11.4 2. installed manual the driver rtl8192se for Realtek rtl8191 3. after reboot setup W-Lan 4. configuration of W-Lan with encryption not working, after 1-2 mins disconnected 5. configuration without encryption no problem, driver is working fine Actual Results: all steps mentioned above Expected Results: all steps mentioned above the driver should work with all kind of encryption, too. But it doesn't! I searched throug Google and it seems like many people with that Realtek 8191se Needs to be created a driver 8191se that works with encryption, too. rtl8192se driver is a temporary solution as there is no data encryption at all. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
